After opening the box, the quality is instantly visible, as my Japanese is a
little rusty, I relied on the support manual images to get me going.
First impressions – they are so light, you forget you are wearing them, the
sound is sharp, crisp and clear. You experience elements of the sound track
you have missed before. The fit is snug and one you can wear for the
duration of a film with ease.
Once you have chosen which setting you prefer, the range of the centre
speaker, and volume you just sit back and enjoy (warning you may not hear
the phone or the wife). Tested with the opening helicopter battle (Mission
Impossible 3) it was great, strange, but close your eyes and the experience
improves, then Ironman. Next up COD Modern Warfare – , in a word “awesome” the whole air around you is a bubble of enhanced audio, digital sound coming from all angles, using your hearing senses to the full. The experience is best when Dolby Digital and Pro 2 are enabled (this is pre-selected by the unit and is driven by the format of audio recording – eg Dolby Digital, DTS-HD etc). If you prefer less sub woofer, switch out of game mode and you enjoy all the surround with less base.
Other films tested, HULK2 (top dog), UP (really good), GI-Joe (really good).
First impression, worth the wait, and looking forward to working my way
through all the Dolby Digital action films I have, and an all nighter on COD
After 4 nights of usage (at least 4 hours a night, one charge is still going
strong)
Conclusion: excellent set of headphones with the flexibility of wireless,
the sounds remains consistent inside and outside the house. For me Dolby
Digital films give more surround experience then DTS-HD but both offer
crips, clean and enhanced audio enjoyment. Gaming is awesome, and with the volume at half way, after 10 mins you forget about the headset and are in
the game.
