
Sony will release a new line of Vaio AR series laptops with options for Blu-ray and CableCard. The $1,700 Vaio AR630E offers the Blu-ray drive, while the $2,400 Vaio AR660U features the CablecCard, and the $3,300 Vaio AR690U does both. These new laptops are also powered by Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 or T7500 processors, and Vista Home or Ultimate. Other features include a 1.3MP webcam, 1440 x 900 or 1920 x 1200 17-inch display, 8400M GT and 8600M GT NVIDIA video graphic, dual 160GB SATA HDDs and HDMI out. All three models should be available around the 2nd of October, 2007.
