Sony is preparing to upgrade its Sony NW-A1000 with an 8GB hard drive. It will be called Sony NW-A1200 walkman. The Sony NW-A1000 players currently contain only a 6GB hard drive. There is no clear information whether the NW-A1200 will support for the AAC audio format or not, but the new player will certainly play MP3 files in addition to Sony’s own ATRAC 3 and ATRAC 3 Plus formats.
