Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray Player

The rumor has it that Sony will be cutting the price of its budget Blu-ray player (BDP-S350) down to $299 on sometime in September. This will give larger segment of the market to consider the standalone Blu-ray player over PS3. Even before the intended cut, BDP-S350 which also feature very good regular DVD upscaling, was already relatively inexpensive compared with other standalone units. Sony’s Competitors are ready to cut their prices late September as well. Funai and its labeled brands (includes Philips/Magnavox, Sylvania and Insignia) is planning to cut the price of their players by $50 to $249. [HDGuru]
