
Sprint has recently rolled out the Sierra Wireless Mobile Broadband USB Modem 598U. This EV-DO Rev. A-compatible device boasts an average download speeds of between 600 kbps and 1.4 Mbps, while upload speeds average 350 to 500 kbps. The 598U is also compatible with EV-DO Rev. 0 and 1XRTT technology and provides an integrated GPS receiver, and a microSDHC memory card slot (up to 32GB). i live in an un-reliable cell phone area. i had a friend who has a srrint compass 597 sierra wireless unit come to check out if it would work here. he take it into the frount yard and got 20% strength. if the usb unit could be located in the attic and a long usb cable run to my computer would it work.also do you know of any other unit that might work better.i used to have a nextel phone that got a very strong signal here. at&t works sometimes but i have not had good luck with any other cell carrier
bandwidth is sometimes a big problem in these devices….
so one should have to work properly before launching dese devices into the market…
