
Synology has begun shipping their latest Network Attached Storage (NAS) device for the mass market. Dubbed as the DiskStation DS410, the device is equipped with a 1.6GHz processor, a 512MB of RAM, a built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption, Gigabit Ethernet, an eSATA port, two USB 2.0 ports and can accommodate up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA hard drives, or four 2.5-inch SSD for a maximum of 8TB of storage space. In terms of performance, it delivers an average of 115MB/s reading speed under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment, and 54MB/s writing.
