
SolarFocus has unveiled the SolarKindle, which is claimed to be the world’s first solar-powered e-reader cover. Designed for the Amazon Kindle, the SolarKindle features a flexible high performance solar panel that provides more juice for the eReader. What’s more, it also has a dual-charging (USB/solar) reserve battery and a built-in LED reading lamp can be powered continuously for up to 50-hour without using the Kindle’s main battery. Here is good news for all Amazon Kindle owners who want to use their gadget while in the swimming pool. M-Edge has recently introduced the Guardian, which is a waterproof case for all Kindles with a 6-inch display. Made of transparent polycarbonate, the case features flexible and sealed cutouts that allow access to all navigation buttons and keyboard. The latest software version of Kindle 2 and Kindle DX is now available for download. The new update adds several improvements to these gadgets such as a built-in PDF reader, a manual screen rotation and a longer battery life. Amazon Kindle owner can download the software update automatically when the wireless connection is activated. During the update, you will see screens that show the update progress. The update should take less than 10 minutes and is complete when Kindle displays the Home screen. Do not power off or reset your Kindle until the update is complete.
