The new firmware update offers some improvements and fixes including improved support for MP4 and MKV videos, fixed playback resolution issues, and fixed support for full screen playback of YouTube and YouTube HD content. Archos has announced that the highly anticipated Archos 9 mini Tablet PC is now available for pre-order. Amazon has started selling the Archos 5 Internet Tablet. In case you didn’t know, the gadget is a 4.3-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen PMP with WiFi, 3.5G connectivity and GPS. The cool part of the Archos 5 is that it supports HDTV out via an HDMI output. Other features include an optional DVR station, Web TV and Web Radio, instant messaging, DroidIn, Twitroid, Deezer for music streaming, Dailymotion, ThinkFree Mobile, etc. The 160GB Archos 5 Internet Tablet is priced at $389.99 each. Archos has unveiled more info about their upcoming touchscreen tablet, the Archos 9. This 9-inch tablet is powered by an Intel Atom processor, up to 120GB disk drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system. Other features include a 1GB of RAM, a lithium-ion battery, webcam, and the virtual keyboard. It also comes bundled several softwares including Microsoft Office and Skype. The upcoming Archos 9 mini tablet PC is powered by Windows 7 as its operating system. Weighing at only 22-ounces, the tablet netbook has a 9-inch touch sensitive display with an Intel Atom Z515 CPU, and a storage capacity of 60GB or 120GB. Archos has added a new netbook to its range in the form of the Archos 10s. This slim and light netbook measures only 0.87 inches thick and weighs just 2.2 pounds, however the specs remain the same to the original Archos 10. Here are the specs: a 10.2-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, a 1GB of RAM, a 80GB hard drive, Microsoft Windows XP Home OS and a choice of either three-cell or six-cell battery. Archos has announced that their 405 PMP will receive a storage upgrade to 30GB. Archos also changed the storage format to a hard drive instead of flash along with a retail price of $293. The Archos 405 should release in Europe by the end of this month. However, it is still unknown whether or not this baby will hit the U.S and elsewhere.

The Archos TV & Wireless DVR is a 250GB digital video recorder (DVR) that is a WiFi receiver that can download, streaming media (music/photos) to the tv and browses the web via the integrated Opera browser as well as a USB 2.0, and 640×480 recording resolution. The price range for this DVR wonder is between $250 and $350.
