
The ASUS RT-N66U is a new high-end dual band router, which is part of the company’s Black Diamond series. ASUS has silently released three new IPS monitors in Europe. The 20-inch VS209H, 21.5-inch VS229H and 23-inch VS239H feature a LED backlight and a wide (178/178 degrees) viewing angles. The ASUS VS209H has a native resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, a maximum brightness of 250 cd/m2, a dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1, a 14ms (GTG) response time and a D-Sub input. Both ASUS VS229H and VS239H provide a maximum of 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors. Folks in Japan are now able to buy the new rugged Android tablet from ASUS. Known as the ASUS Tough (model: TOUGH-ETBW11AA), this Android Honeycomb tablet is water and dust resistant, allowing you to use it in the swimming pool or the desert. The gadget also features a rubberized bezel and strips across the back, allowing it to survive drops from the height of 76cm. ASUS has once again expanded its line of Full HD monitors by announcing the VE278Q. This new 27-inch LED-backlight monitor delivers 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 2ms response time and 170/160 degree viewing angles. In addition, it also comes with two built-in 3W speakers and has mini D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort connectors. ASUS is planning on launching their newest mini-ITX FM1 motherboard ‘F1A75-I Deluxe’ in Europe at the end of this month. The F1A75-I Deluxe will have a price tag of 109 Euro (about $156) and comes bundled with a mini wireless keyboard. Based on AMD A75 chipset, the F1A75-I Deluxe supports for AMD’s new FM1 APUs and features the DIGI+ VRM technology, two DDR3 memory slots and one PCI-Express x16 slot. Asustek has officially confirmed that the upcoming ASUS Padfone will be powered by the Google Android 2.4/4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS when the device is released sometime late this year. Alex Sun, chief of Asustek’s personal mobile devices department, explained that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich is the operating system of choice for the upcoming ASUS Padfone because the operating system promises better integration across different platforms. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich is set for release in the fourth quarter and is hoped to patch the fragmentation caused by different releases of Android for smartphones and tablets. In case you didn’t know, the ASUS Padfone is the only device coming to market that has a hidden compartment to dock the phone where it will power the tablet.
