
Taiwan’s AU Optronics have showcased their latest 14-inch OLED panel at this year’s FPD International show in Japan. Unlike most 14-inch OLED panels, this particular panel provides 1920 x 1080 FULL HD resolution and is capable of displaying 16 million colors and 72% of the NTSC color gamut. The panel also offers 157ppi density, 100,000:1 contrast ratio, 200 cd/m2 brightness and runs at 120Hz. The company says that they are ready to start mass production of it if it sees enough demand. AU Optronics Corp will introduce their latest 65-inch eco-friendly LED panel with QFHD high resolution at FPD International 2009 in Yokohama Japan. Measuring at only 7.9mm, the LED panel adopts the latest pre-mixed “LED Light Cell” with 256 zones for local dimming and produces a 2,000,000:1 of contrast ratio. AUO has showcased its new ultra slim 46-inch full HD TV panel during Display Taiwan 2009. Measuring only 9.8mm-thick, this new HD TV features a 16:9 LED back light, low power consumption (170W) and PID (Public Information Display) application support. Sadly, there’s no word on pricing and availability yet. More

Auo will be launching the World’s slimmist TFT-LCD in both 1.9-inch and 8-inch versions. The 8-inch features a 400cd/m2 brightness and 2.1-gram weight along with a pair of in-cell, multi-touch displays in 4.3- and 8-inches. “They are said to offer superior anti-glare properties while manufacturing the multi-touch feature directly into the LCD cell without more glass.” The 4.3-inch panel will be on shelves this quarter. AUO will be releasing ultra-slim 42†TFT LCDs with LED technology. It comes with white LEDs to reduce power consumption as well as simplifying the driving circuit, birghtness of 450 units and a contrast ratio of 200,000 to 1.
