Priced at $249 a pop, the gadget sports a 7-inch IPS touchscreen display at 1024 x 600 resolution, the Google Android operating system and a web browser. Barnes & Noble has officially announced the availability of the Nook Color in the US. The gadget features a 7-inch (1024 x 600) IPS display with capacitive touch, the Google Android 2.0 OS, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, an 8GB of storage space, a microSD card slot, up to 8-hour of battery life (Wi-Fi is turned off), a mono speaker and a headphone jack. Barnes & Noble NOOK Wi-Fi Is Now Official

Barnes & Noble has confirmed the availability of the NOOK Wi-Fi eReader. The gadget provides a 6-inch e-paper display, a 3.5-inch color touchscreen and all the other features, such as e-book lending, web browsing and the fledgling game and music Android apps. The Nook Wi-Fi retails for $149 a pop. It’s available to order today and will ship this week. Additionally, the Nook 3G is dropping from its original $259 to $199.

Barnes & Noble has also released the 1.4 firmware update for both devices. The new firmware adds the free AT&T access as well as a Go To Page feature that can jump to a particular page, an extremely large font for poor-sighted readers and faster book load times. [Electronista]

First Pictures Of Barnes And Noble e-Book Reader

Here are several pictures of the upcoming Barnes and Noble e-Book reader. From these leaked pictures, we can see that the gadget will feature an e-ink screen as expected, but it will be monochrome only.
