
Sony releases two new 5.1-channel Blu-ray HTIB systems, the BDV-E300 and BDV-E500W. Both home theater systems support BD-Live-capable (Profile 2.0) Blu-ray player, BRAVIA Sync technology, and Sony’s Digital Media Port to easily control Apple’s iPod and Sony’s Walkman line. The Sony BDV-E500W features an integrated S-AIR wireless audio capabilities that allows you to place your rear speakers in the room wirelessly. I-O Data boasts its first ultra slim external USB 2.0 Blu-Ray player. Measuring 21mm thick, the BDVRP-UH4 retails in Japan for 27400 Yen. The player can also burn DVDs and has a buffer of 4MB. [I-O Data]

The FastMac USB external slimline Blu-ray reader is now official. The device will be available in three variants including the APP-6907, APP-6963 and APP-6964. Priced at $99, the FastMac APP-6907 Blu-ray player also offers DVD± capability. The APP-6963 is priced at $299 and supports 1x BD-R drive. Meanwhile, the $399 APP-6964 supports 4x BD-R drive. Here is good news for our folks who lived in Japan. The latest Blu-Ray recorder from Mitsubishi has been released in Japan for 178,000 Yens or approx. €1,500. The Mitsubishi DVR-BF2000 features 500GB of hard disk drive, two digital TV Tuner, and a BD-R/RE drive. You are able to record two programs simultaneously thanks to its double digital TV Tuner. Denon today introduced the world’s first high end Blu-ray universal player known as the DVD-A1UD. The player is able to play Blu-ray, DVD discs, DVD-audio, SACD and standard CDs. The Denon DVD-A1UD adopts Denon Link 4th technology and comes equipped with two HDMI 1.3 ports, component video, S-video, composite video, optical digital audio, coaxial digital, balanced two-channel stereo analog audio, Ethernet, and SD memory card slot. Denon has decided to release the DVD-A1UD in Japan next month for $5,879. The European release will be in March for €4,000. [Impress]

It seems that Sony is serious in the Blu-ray burner business. The company has recently unveiled the third generation internal Blu-ray disc writer that is priced at approx. $400. The BWU-300S offers 8x recording speed so it can burn a 25GB disc only in 15 minutes using 6x compatible BD-R media. The burner is also backward compatible with DVDs at 16x, and CDs at 48x. The new Samsung BD-P2500 Blu-ray player will be released in October 2008. The player offers BD-Live support, HQV video processing, an audio support including 7.1 analog output and PCM or bitstream audio for Dolby Digital, Digital Plus, TrueHD or DTS soundtracks, and DTS-HD HR (after a firmware update). Panasonic has confirmed the availability of the DMP-BD35 And DMP-BD55 Blu-Ray Players at the IFA 2008. Both Blu-Ray players comes in a slim casing and adopts BD-Live Profile 2.0 as well as VIERA Link compatible. These players also features the UniPhier processor, SD-Slots, HDMI Output, 7.1 channel audio output (Only DMP-BD55), and PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus image-processing. Sony has finally released its new high-end home theater. The Sony Bravia BDV-IT1000 All-in-One Blu-ray home theater system features several cool specifications including 700W of total power, slim speakers with finger-sized full-range drive units, wireless rear speakers, two HDMI inputs and support for Dolby Digital Plus, TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. LG Super Multi Blue Drive is now available in the Korean market. The drive sports both Blu-ray and HD DVD formats and features 6x speed Blu-ray disc. The Super Multi Blue Drive can read Blu-ray capacity of 50GB and HD-DVD capacity of 30GB. It is priced at approx. $55.
