The Bowers & Wilkins today introduced the PM1 speakers that deliver big sound in a small package. The key feature of the PM1 is the company’s new Carbon Braced Tweeter, which features an aluminum dome that has been strategically stiffened with a ring made of filament-wound Ultra High Modulus Pitch-based carbon fiber. This high-end speaker also offers Kevlar cone bass and mid-range drivers with new Anti-Resonance Plugs and dual-layer composite cabinets with an internal bracing system. After releasing the Bowers & Wilkins P5 portable headphone set, the company today introduced the MM-1 computer speaker system that consists of one 3-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter, and a dedicated 18Watts amplifier. The tweeters features the company’s signature Nautilus tube-loaded design that is claimed to produce improved high-frequency sounds. In addition, the MM-1 also uses Digital Signal Processing (DSP) components that will automatically adjust sound balance depending on the signal. Bowers & Wilkins is ready to launch the P5, which is their first portable headphone set. The over-ear cupped headphones feature a built-in microphone and remote compatible with the iPhone and newer iPods including the iPod touch and iPod shuffle.
