Designed for offices, the device produces high quality color output at impressive print and copy speeds of up to 30ppm. The Brother MFC-9970CDW also provides several connectivity options such as Wireless, Ethernet and USB interfaces. This all-in-one printer features a 5-inch color touchscreen display, an automatic duplex print/copy/scan/fax and an optional high yield toner cartridges. Brother has successfully developed a head-mounted display prototype, which is dubbed as the AiRScouter. Compared to the prototype announced on October 20th, 2009, this new prototype shows image more clearly with a redesigned optical scanning system, which improves image quality. It also has an upgraded design, allowing you to attach a micro camera on it for practical use. The AiRScouter prototype will be exhibited at “Brother World JAPAN 2010″, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan by Brother Sales, Ltd., on September 15th, 2010. [Akihabara]
Another e-Book reader ‘SV-70′ from Brother is set to be unleashed in Japan. Measuring 237 mm x 247mm x 15.5mm and weighing 600 grams, this thin device boasts a 9.7-inch 1200 x 800 display, a 100MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a USB port and a lithium-ion battery that provides up to 83 hours of continuous use. It seems that Brother wants to play in e-Book reader market by releasing the SV-100B. Dubbed as a “Document Viewer”, the gadget comes equipped with a 9.7 inch display at 1,200 x 825 resolution (150dpi), can display up to 5000 pages, 83 hours of battery life, and a microSD slot. It comes with a 2GB microSB for storing up to 10,000 pages. The e-Book reader can be connected to a PC via Bluetooth. No info on pricing or availability so far. [Brother]
