
Buffalo Technology today launched a new 3TB external hard disk drive that supports the USB 3.0 interface. Dubbed as the HD-LBV3.0TU3, the device draws its power from an external DC power supply. The storage device normally draws 18W of power, but can reduce to just 1.6W, using the bundled ecoManager software, which spins down the drive when idling. Measuring 39mm x 123mm x 189mm and weighing approx. 1Kg, the Buffalo HD-LBV3.0TU3 will be launched later this month for 26,400 Yen or around $320. [techPowerUp]

Buffalo has recently introduced three new USB flash drives, the RUF2-HSCLT, RUF2-HSCLTV and RUF2-HSCLTV3. Available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB of storage capacities, these storage devices come equipped with AES 256-bit hardware encryption. Two of these flash drives also come pre-loaded with the Trend Micro antivirus software that automatically scans every file transferred. The Buffalo RUF2-HSCLTV offer a 1 year Trend Micro subscription, while the Buffalo RUF2-HSCLTV3 has a 3-year Trend Micro anti-virus subscription. The Buffalo DT-F200/U2W is not an ordinary digital TV tuner, because it is able to record two TV programs at the same time. The USB terrestrial digital TV tuner uses twin antennas, which are connected to a couple of processors. Buffalo is bringing you their newest gaming keyboard, the BSKBC02BK. Adopting the simultaneous multiple key recognition technology, this wired keyboard comes with 109 keys, a USB 2.0/1.1 connection interface and is compatible with the latest game consoles such as PS3 and Nintendo Wii. Buffalo is set to drop a new line of USB 3.0 flash drives ‘RUF3-SS’ for the Japanese market. Coming in capacities ranging from 8GB to 64GB, these drives feature a USB 3.0/2.0 connection interface and promise to deliver transfer speeds of up to 71MB/s. Buffalo has just announced two new products for the consumer, the MiniStation Stealth and the DriveStation Axis LED. The MiniStation Stealth is a USB-powered compact portable hard drive, which is compatible with PC or Mac computer, while the DriveStation Axis LED is an easy to use external hard drive for the instant addition of external storage to any device using a USB port. The Buffalo DriveStation Axis LED features an easy-to-read integrated capacity meter and a unique chassis. It can be positioned vertically or horizontally, adapting to the location it is used in for efficient use of space and providing immediate feedback regarding storage capacity. Buffalo Japan has added a new 64GB SDXC (eXtended Capacity) card to its range that comes with Class 10 speed specification. This thumb-sized card is specially designed for HD-capable camcorders and DSLR cameras, and promises to deliver transfer speeds of at least 10 MB/s. Pioneer Japan today announced the BDR-206MBK, which is known as the world’s first BDXL Blu-ray burner for PC. The device is compatible to BD-R XL discs with three (100GB) or four layers (128GB) and BD-RE XL discs with 3 layers (100GB). What’s more, the Blu-day burner also supports 3D Blu-ray discs. The Pioneer BDR-206MBK will hit Japanese stores next month for $372 each.
Buffalo has also announced the BRXL-6FBS-BK BDXL Blu-ray burner that supports exactly the same BDXL discs as the Pioneer burner and also plays 3D Blu-rays. Buffalo is set to drop their newest 24x external DVD writer for the Japanese market. Dubbed as the DVSM-24U2, the drive is equipped with a USB 2.0 connection interface and provides write speeds of up to 24x for DVD-R/+R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL & DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 32x for CD-RW. In addition, the drive also comes bundled with a number of software utilities from CyberLink including PowerDVD 9, PowerDirector 8 HE, PowerProducer 5, Power2Go 6, InstantBurn 5 and PowerBackup 2. Buffalo has rolled out a successor to the LS-WXL series in the form of the new LS-WV series. Available in a 1TB, 2TB, 3TB or 4TB of storage space, the LS-WV comes with a faster processor than its predecessors. This new processor allows the NAS to transfer 1000 photos (around 800MB) in just 48.3 seconds. For your info, the Buffalo LS-WXL requires 55.4 seconds to transfer the same amount of data.
