Buffalo is preparing to unleash a new line of portable hard drives in Japan called the MiniStation HD-PCTU2. Coming in 320GB, 500GB and 640GB sizes, these slim 2.5-inch drives feature a glossy enclosure, a USB 2.0 interface and come bundled with the Eco manager software for reducing power consumption by up to 20%. Available in both black and white color options, the MiniStation HD-PCTU2 portable hard drives will begin shipping in Japan starting next week for $119 (320GB), $149 (500GB) and $200 (640GB), respectively. Buffalo is set to drop their latest 3D-enabled external Blu-ray writer ‘BP3D-PI6U2-BK’ for the Japanese market. This new external drive is equipped with a USB 2.0 connection interface and comes bundled with CyberLink’s PowerDVD 9 software which enables Blu-ray 3D playback as well as 2D to 3D conversion of DVD movies. In terms of performance, the drive provides write speeds of 6x for BD-R (SL/DL), 2x for BD-RE (SL/DL), 8x for DVD-R/+R and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM and 24x for CD-R/-RW. Already available in Japan and the US, Buffalo’s newest 12x external USB 3.0 Blu-ray writer ‘BR3D-12U3‘ has finally made its debut in Europe and available for purchase for a retail price of 269.99 Euro (about $345). To refresh your memory, the drive is equipped with a USB 3.0/2.0 connection interface and supports the following media formats: BD-R SL 8x read / 12x write, DVD R SL 16x read / 16x write and CD-R 40x read / 40x write. Already available in the US market, Buffalo’s latest portable HDD ‘MiniStation Metro‘ will finally make its way to Japanese market starting next week. In case you didn’t remember, the drive is equipped with the BumperBody shock protection system, a wrap-around USB 2.0 cable, a built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption and supports for Apple’s Time Machine. Buffalo’s Newest External Hard Drive

Measuring 39mm x 123mm x 189mm and weighing 1kg, the HD-LBU2 is the latest addition to Buffalo’s external hard drive line-up. This new 3.5-inch drive has a USB 2.0 /1.1 interface and can be installed horizontally or vertically. Not to mention, the drive also comes bundled with the Eco Manager software for reducing power consumption by lowering the rotary speed of the platters when idle. Buffalo has unveiled a new line of USB flash drives ‘RUF2-JMS’ for the Japanese market. Coming in both 4GB and 8GB sizes, these stylish flash drives feature a sleek, polished metal frame, a glossy body, a retractable USB 2.0 connector and promise to deliver transfer speeds of up to 33MB/s when using the included Turbo PC tool. Buffalo LinkTheater LT-V100 Network HD Media Player

Buffalo Japan has just announced their latest networked media player which has been released in Japan and is called the Buffalo LinkTheater LT-V100. It is capable of 1080p full HD playback and has both HDMI and composite video outputs as well as both analog and optical-digital audio outputs. A 10/100 ethernet port will be included as well for network streaming. Two USB 2.0 ports are included as well with one in the front and one in the back to allow you to hook up external storage for local playback. [SlashGear]

Buffalo DriveStation

The new Buffalo DriveStation will soon be available in Japan in 2, 3 and 4TB models. It has a very nicely designed enclosure that offers both eSATA & USB 2.0 and comes with 2 HDD in RAID 0. Buffalo Outs 256GB SHD-NHPU2 SSD

Buffalo has just added a new storage capacity ’256GB’ to its IDE-based SHD-NHPU2 SSD line-up. Just like the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models, the 256GB model also comes with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a USB 2.0 interface, an IDE interface, a 64MB of cache and is able to deliver transfer speeds of up to 101MB/s.
