Canon is ready to launch four new printers in Japan, the MX833, MX420, MP493 and iX6530. The Canon MX833 and MX420 are SOHO-oriented printers that support WiFi, Bluetooth, fax and scanner. The Canon MX833 has a double side scanner mode and a maximum resolution of 9600×2400 dpi, while the Canon MX420 only features a maximum resolution of 4800×1200 dpi. The Canon iX6530 is an A3 printer and scanner with a resolution of 9600×2400 dpi, while the entry level MP493 is a simple A4 printer with a scanner offering a maximum resolution of 4800×1200 dpi. Canon U.S.A. has announced two new large-format printers, the 44-inch imagePROGRAF iPF8300S and 24-inch imagePROGRAF iPF6300S. These printers adopts the company’s LUCIA EX ink set that allows professionals to achieve high quality and performance in such printing applications as color or monochrome photography, industrial design and high-quality poster production. This ink system works in conjunction with the high-density PF-05 print head, featuring Canon’s FINE technology with 2,560 nozzles for each color: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, matte black, photo cyan, photo magenta and gray. There is also a built-in color calibration function, which compensates for color variations caused by factors such as age and environmental affects, enabling consistent color representation across multiple large-format printers or when printing multiple copies. Canon has announced the availability of the REALiS WUX4000 D Installation LCOS projector, which is actually the company’s first high-resolution installation projector for the medical education market. The projector supports a DICOM Simulation mode that simulates the results of devices compliant with the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Part 14 standardized display function for display of grayscale images. The Canon REALiS WUX4000 D Installation LCOS projector delivers WUXGA-resolution (1920 x 1200) widescreen (16:10) images at 4000 lumens and adopts a built-in Canon Color-Correction IC (integrated circuit), which together with the AISYS-enhanced LCOS system, provides highly accurate color reproduction and precision luminosity adjustment without affecting the display of neighboring colors. Canon has announced a new member from the PIXMA all-in-one printer series. The Canon Pixma MG6150 uses the Canon’s FINE print head technology to produce professional-quality greyscale and color photo printing. The Canon’s FINE technology, with 1pl ink droplets, delivers 9600x2400dpi print resolution for amazingly detailed color photos and grain-free monochrome images. Canon has recently rolled out the SELPHY CP800, which is actually the successor to the CP780. This new compact photo printer boasts a shuffle function that will randomly select photos from the memory card and combine them into a single 4×6-inch image. The CP800 also features a 2.5-inch tilting LCD display, an optional battery pack and a Bluetooth adapter that allows it to print wirelessly from compatible devices. Canon has recently unveiled their latest electronic dictionary series, which is dedicated to Chinese, Korean and English studies. Canon has just announced that they will be releasing two new scanners that will be a part of the LiDE product line that will be hitting stores later on this year. The two new models will be the Canon LiDE 210 and the Canon LiDE 110, with a maximum resolution of 4800 x 4800 and 2400 x 4800 respectively. They will both feature auto document fix, auto scan mode and an improved Z-Lid expansion top for scanning thicker documents.
