
Kia Motors unveiled its concept car SOUL Burner during 2008 the Geneva Motor Show. The Kia SOUL Burner features an all black color with tattoos of a large dragon creeping over the hood and a small dragon climbing up the C-Pillar. The front bumper comes with L-shaped day-light LED driving lamps around the outer edges and the rear has two vertical exhaust pipes on the extremes of the bumper and lastly the inside of the SOUL Burner has four individual sports seats and cabin trim divided horizontally. Audi has recently showed off their new version of Audi’s R8 V12 TDI concept at the Geneva Motor Show. The new R8 is powered by 6.0 liter V12 diesel motor that produces 500 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The company claims this concept car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Other features include a glass roof, all-LED headlights, an increased use of carbon fiber, revised front and rear aprons, and larger air intakes all around. The Lifecar is a hydrogen-powered sports car which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. It has a maximum speed of 90 mph and accelerates 0 to 60mph in 7 seconds. The concept car is based on the Morgan Aero-8 and has a range of 250 miles. I’m not sure users will be easily refuel the Lifecar. The car also lacks of a stereo system and airbags. Too bad! [BBC]

Italdesign Giugiaro’s Quaranta concept is using a 3.3L V6 engine that combined with Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive. It produces 268 horsepower and 212 pound feet of torque. The engine accelerates the car from 0-60mph in just 4.05 seconds. Its solar panel on the roof provides enough power for the interior electronics and charge the batteries. Honda has announced that the 2009 model of the Honda Fit will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show. The new Fit will have a new design; the rear looks slightly curvier, and the whole car seems a bit longer. We don’t know yet whether the US version will have an in-dash navigation system or not. Designer Joe Harmon and a U.S. design company has come out with the world’s first wooden supercar called Splinter with a speed of 240 mph. The car is a two-seater and made from maple, plywood and MDF. It’s powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine with a six-speed gearbox. The NaviSurfer II is the other option next to laptops and I have to say the specs aren’t bad. It supports Windows or Linux. But you will need to have your own USB or Bluetooth add-ons.
