Modder John entered this Optimus Prime case mod into the Extreme Tech case mod contest, and it is probably the coolest Transformers-based case mod we’ve seen so far. The PC adopts an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 processor, 2GB of RAM, dual GeForce 8800GTS OC graphics cards in SLI, and dual Western Digital RaptorX 150GB hard drives. It also has a seven-inch LCD on its body, and two windows on its chest, Autobot symbols, and storage compartments on the legs to hold your mouse and keyboard.

Someone with too much time in their hands created what seems like a real car wheel, but in actuality is a fully-functional computer complete with a cool panel display and LED illumination. And it’s got a CD, DVD or whatever drive too. Amazing.

Designed by Max Erlandsson (a.k.a. SleepStreamer), the Hangar 101 case mod was inspired by the engine room of the NX-01 Enterprise, from the Star Trek: Enterprise TV series. See one more pic after the break!
