
Here is good news for those who have pre-order the highly anticipated Nokia N86 8MP. The dual-slider phone is now available for purchase in the US market. It is no longer a pre-order on Amazon. Priced at $468.99, the Nokia N86 is actually Nokia’s new imaging flagship. The phone comes jam packed with a superb 8MP shooter with dual-LEDs flash, GPS, S60 3rd edition FP2 operating system, US 3G up to 3.6Mbps on the downlink, and WiFi. The Nokia N86 8MP also has a 2.6-inch AMOLED (active matrix organic light-emitting diode) screen that reproduces sharper and brighter colors with better battery consumption. LG today introduced their first Android-based smartphone that will be available in the fourth quarter of this year in selected European markets. The announcement of LG’s first Android-powered smartphone comes only a week after the company announced that it would be introducing three new Windows Mobile smartphones in the next few weeks. Previously known as “Etna”, the LG GW620 is a QWERTY-slider that has a 3-inch touchscreen display with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, Wi-Fi and GPS. The Nokia Twist (model 7705) is a square-shaped phone that comes jam packed with a swivel-out QWERTY keyboard. As a Verizon phone, the Twist provides you access to V Cast music and video. The handset also supports visual voice mail. Additional features include a full HTML browser, a 3MP camera, and a “post to blogs” function for easy uploading of your media to the internet. Palm has finally announced its second WebOS smartphone, officially called Palm Pixi (previously known as Palm Eos or Palm Pixie). Measuring 4.37-inch x 2.17-inch x 0.43-inch and weighing at just 99.5 grams, the Palm Pixi is claimed as the slimmest Palm smartpone. The candy-bar handset comes equipped with a 2.63-inch (320×400) touchscreen display, a 2MP fixed-focus camera with LED flash, a full QWERTY keypad, and access to the Palm Beta App Catalog, which includes entertainment and social networking applications like Yelp and Local Concerts by iLike. The back cover of Palm Pixi is rubberized, which makes the phone scratch-resistant and durable. The Palm Pixi comes with Palm Synergy, which links your information from Google, Exchange ActiveSync, Facebook, Yahoo! and LinkedIn. Other features include a GPS receiver, a Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP, a 8GB of storage, and a 3.5mm Jack. Unfortunately, the handset doesn’t have Wi-Fi. Still remember the LG BL40 Touch Chocolate that we mentioned back in July? South Korean cell phone maker LG Electronics has officially confirmed that LG Chocolate LG-BL40 would become available for purchase on the European market starting mid-September 2009. The handset delivers a 4-inch wide screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio, support for 7.2 HSDPA for fast Internet browsing with the elimination of side scrolling due to the wider screen, a panoramic multimedia experience, the Dual Screen UI (shows two types of content at the same time), simplified touchscreen navigation, one-touch copy and paste, a wide range of personalization options through wallpapers, themes and ringtones, a slim shape with glossy black finish, as well as a smooth, elegant surface provided by the curved scratch-resistant glass encasing the device. The Russian luxury cell phone manufacturer Gresso has recently announced the release of a new collection dubbed Gresso Grand Monaco. Inspired by the F1 racing, the Gresso Grand Monaco phones is made from “titanium superalloy” with a high-tech ceramic and carbon. Other materials include steel and hand-polished 42 K sapphire crystal. Available in “Metallic Ceramic Black Carbon” and “Metallic Ceramic Black Carbon”, the phone also boasts flat keypads and supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, a 2MP camera, Bluetooth, e-mail and “an outstanding menu design”. Nokia will launch the new Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition in the third quarter of 2009. The handset comes bundled with lifetime WALK navigation and voice-guided DRIVE licenses. Each purchase will come with a Nokia car kit, a car charger, and the latest version of Ovi Maps, which includes high-res aerial images, weather service, terrain maps, and 3D landmarks for over 200 cities. Sony Ericsson has announced their latest GPS-enabled phone, which is known as the Sony Ericsson U10i. The UMTS HSPA phone features an 8.1MP digital camera with flash, a microSD cards for storage expansions, a slide-out keypad, a full touch screen display, Bluetooth, and a 1000mAh removable battery. Sony Ericsson has joined with Dolce&Gabbana to design and launch the Jalou clamshell phone for the style conscious. Jalou probably comes from Jaloux, which is French for Jealous. The phone features a 3MP shooter with an FM radio, a pedometer and A-GPS. The D&G edition has a rose-colored finish with 24-karat gold plating. The handset ships with three satin bags to protect the phone or hold accessories, as well as a Dolce&Gabbana branded headset with gold accents. Samsung has recently introduced its latest 3G handset in the form of the Samsung Honey Bubble. Dubbed as the SPH-W8700, the cell phone boasts a 2MP digicam with a panorama mode and video recording capability. Other features include a DMB Digital TV tuner, a Bluetooth, an MP3 player, Subway Map, M-Commerce, GPS, dictionary, and SOS Siren Alarm. No info on pricing at this time.
