Usually there isn’t a whole lot to report with a new wireless router as they all pretty much do the same thing and have the same functionality. These new Cisco Linksys E-Series and Valet wireless routers do offer a lot to get excited about though especially if you are a bit lacking in the technical department. The routers will come with an Easy Setup USB flash drive that makes configuring the routers almost plug and play. They also offer the ability to set up a guest network with a unique password and custom limitations, which is great if you don’t want to give everyone access to your full network. [OhGizmo]

Cisco is putting their foot in the door of the tablet market although they have a bit of a different vision and they will purposely not be going head to head with the iPad. They are instead aiming for this to be a business tablet with emphasis on “Mobility, HD Video ,Virtualization, Collaboration, Android OS and User Experience”. It features dual display support and docking capabilities, but will all this be enough to make the Cisco Cius a real contender, even if it is trying to create it’s own market? Only time will tell. As we promised over the weekend here’s the promising details of “the iPhone”. It turns out Apple doesn’t have anything to do with it. It’s a VoIP phone from Linksys (now division of Cisco) which they are cutely branding “the iPhone”.
You can expect to see this $180 iPhone Dual-Mode Internet Telephony Kit for Skype CIT400 soon. And from what we can tell, it’s merely an advanced Skype handset. Linksys also announced the $200 iPhone Wireless-G Phone for Skype WIP320 (picture after the jump), which is a SIP VoIP phone. Nice try Linksys, but thanks – we are going to wait for the real thing.
