
The Asus Eee 1000 is now official at Computex, Taiwan. The company boasts that the Eee 1000 keyboard is 92% the size of an average laptop keyboard. Its battery life is up to 8 hours. Here is a unique PC Casemod. Designed and constructed by Chris Kramer (a.k.a “Jadragonâ€), the Egyptian PC Casemod features the intricate hieroglyphics and encrusted jewels. The case is covered with 68 pounds of hand-carved limestone tiles, the Eye of Ra has been crafted from brass and inlaid with polished malachite and verisite. Chris spent for more than 200 hours to carve and encrust all of the gemstone details, which include turquoise, calcite, lapis lazuli, ivory, coral and carnelian. [Technabob] More

Biostar today introduced the successor to the P35 motherboard by releasing the new P45 series. This motherboard comes with a faster Front Side Bus (FSB), an easy setup for both Crossfire and SLI configurations and support for faster memory. There are also six SATA connectors and 10 USB ports. Suissa Computers from Canada has designed the Enlighten PC, which is a very limited edition (only 10 units). This PC features 4GB of memory, a 1TB hard drive, and a choice of an Intel Quad Core or AMD X2 processor. No info on pricing or availability so far. [Crave]

The new Averatec All-in-One PC is a full featured desktop personal computer. The PC features 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 processor, 22 inch widescreen LCD display, NVIDIA GeForce 8400 graphics card, supports up to 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive, dual layer DVD burner, 1.3MP webcam, six USB 2.0 ports, 802.11b/g wireless, TV Tuner and Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. Asus P5Q motherboard has been released. The new motherboard adopts a Linux-based Express Gate technology which is a simplified operating system that allows you to load up only the required programs that are needed to access the Internet. Other features include an integrated EPU energy saving chip which is the VRM (voltage regulation module) that takes advantage of a 16-phase power design. There is no word on pricing or availability of the P5Q series motherboards. [Electronista]

The MSI Titan mini desktop PC has been released. Priced at only £235 or about $450, the Titan features a 250GB SATA hard drive, 2 GHz VIA C7 processor, 1GB of DDR 2 memory and VIA’s CN700 integrated chipset. Other features include 2 USB ports, VGA, TV out, 5.1-channel digital audio out, legacy PS/2 and serial ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. What makes this mini PC special is that it has a dual-layer multi-format DVD writer. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with an operating system. The MSI Titan measures 9.45 inch x 7.28 inch x 2.75 inch. The AlphaGrip HC handheld concept consists of a “full keyboard, trackball and a touchscreen” into a handheld device. The computer also has full-size rocker keys on the back, thumb keys on the front, 10-finger touch-typing and gaming at rates of 250-350 key presses or 50-70 words per minute. Mouse computers Japan today introduced their high end liquid cooled PC for the Japanese market. The PC is available in two variants, the V730XV5-LS and V730X5-LS, that comes loaded with a 3GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9650 CPU, 3GB of RAM, NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI chipset, a huge 650GB of hard drive, and 512MB of GeForce 9800 GTX with SLI. The system is powered by Windows Vista and XP respectively. The Mouse computer V730XV5-LS and V730X5-LS will be available in May 15th, 2008 for $3600. [Newlaunches]
