The TAG Heuer Mikrotimer Flying 1000 concept watch is known as the first mechanical chronograph to achieve 1/100 accuracy and a speed of 500hz. Set to debut later this week at Basal, the timepiece features a highly modern design with an innovative case system made of black titanium carbide and silver titanium horns. Designed by Max Battaglia at Givingshape Design Studio, the Hyper Touch Guitar is a futuristic electric guitar that has no strings. Max Battaglia replaces the guitar strings with a multitouch screen, allowing the user to adjust the number of “strings” and frets, as well as tuning and sound effects. Alexey Chugunnikov has creatively designed the Rollerphone concept. It is a wearable cell phone that looks like a wristwatch. What makes the Rollerphone special is that it has a retractable transparent screen at the base. The gadget features a media center, allowing you to watch videos, chat online, play games, read e-books and listen to music. Additionally, the Rollerphone also projects time, which is similar to the Alessi Watch Concept. Too bad, it is only a concept at this moment. Read more
The UNO 24 wristwatch concept has already received such coveted design awards as the Red Dot and the Good Design Award for its outstanding design quality. Designed by Klaus Botta for Botta Design, the timepiece displays the entire day at a glance. The precise hour hand completes one full rotation every 24 hours. The dial is visually separated into day section and night sections. The position of the hand corresponds to the course taken by the sun for example in the morning the hand appears above the horizon, at mid day it reaches its zenith and in the evening it sinks to the horizon. Designed by Gennady Martynov and Emre Cetinkoprulu, the Zoomin Watch is a unique analog watch. The hour and minute hands are replaced by mini magnifying glasses, which makes reading the time as easy as a digital watch. Too bad, it is only a concept at this moment. [Yanko]
Joao Goncalves has designed the Waterfactory Bathroom Project to conserve water. It is actually a set of Corian washstand, toilet and bathtub that includes an electrically powered system for filtering the humid air of the loo and condensing it to water for reuse. Designed by French designer Oliver Demangel, the Konect Tokyo USB concept watch is actually a combination of Bluetooth headphones and a USB flash drive. These Bluetooth headphones allow you to play and listen MP3 files, which are stored on the USB flash drive. What’s more, the USB stick can be removed and then replace when needed. It is so difficult to pull out the electric plug from the power strip. The connector is often too tight, so it can’t be pulled out with just one hand. Zhao Zhaohui has creatively designed the Single Hand Socket Strip that allows you to pull electric plugs single-handedly without causing any damage to the head or wire. Designed by Benjamin Hubert for Orsjo, the Crane is an architectural adjustable task lamp, which is inspired by industrial engineered metal structures and equipment. The lamp features a bank of high power LEDS shrouded in an industrial perforated aluminum casing to create a tube that is uninterrupted by openings, while a simple clamp base supports the articulating horizontal arm, which can be both rotated and adjusted in height.
