
Cowon has just released an updated version of its W2 Mobile Internet Device series that comes equipped with a 32GB SSD. Dubbed as the Cowon W2 SSD, the device features a 4.8-inch 1024 x 600 resistive touchscreen display, a 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor, a 1GB RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, dual USB ports, a mini USB port, TV-Out, an Ethernet port and runs on either Windows 7 Starter or Home Premium OS. The Cowon W2 SSD sells for 659,000 KRW (about $591) with Windows 7 Starter OS or 739,000 KRW (about $663) with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. [Cowon]

Cowon has recently launched the Cowon J3 AMOLED PMP in the Korean market. FYI, this PMP has a 3.3-inch AMOLED (480 x 272) touchscreen display, a DMB and Bluetooth connectivity. Measuring at only 0.99cm thick, the gadget also features a built-in speaker, a voice recorder, a dictionary, a TV-Out, and a MicroSD Slot. The J3 is currently available in 4, 8 or 16GB of storage space. Its built-in battery provides an outstanding battery life with 64 hours of audio playback or 11 hours of video playback. Cowon has recently posted a teaser page for their upcoming mobile internet device called the W2. Cowon has introduced the V5 HD PMP in South Korea that is scheduled to go on sale on first day of 2010. Weighing 197grams, the player features a 4.8-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen display, Cowon’s Jet effects to enhance music and variety of multimedia codec support. In addition, the gadget also integrates a T-DMB, an RSS reader, a voice recorder, a calculator, a flash games, a notepad, a world clock, a digital frame mode, an e-dictionary and support for various mobile games from SKT. Its battery provides up to 10 hours of video playback or up to 45 hours of music playback. The Cowon V5 PMP will be available in three variants including a regular, a DMB and an e-dictionary models. Cowon has announced the availability of its new iAUDIO 9 digital audio player. Measuring 95mm x 43mm x 8.9mm and weighing at just 40grams, the gadget features a 2-inch TFT screen with a 320×240 pixels resolution and supports most of popular multimedia files including MP3, WMA, FLAC, OGG, WAV, WMV and AVI (DviX). The Cowon iAUDIO 9 is scheduled to be released in Japan sometimes next month. The 8GB model retails for 14,800 Yen ($160), while the 16GB model is priced at 17,800 Yen ($193). South Korean Manufacturer, Cowon has recently introduced a new series of USB flash drives, the UM1. Coming in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities, these drives feature a decorated metal enclosure with an inscription ‘Don’t Forget Me’ and measure only 31mm x 12mm x 3mm. What’s more, these drives are also water and dust proof, and come in two color options: dark silver and gold. Sadly, there’s no word on pricing and availability yet. Read more

The COWON S9 digital media player that was released at the end of last year in titanium black and chrome black is now available in ceramic white. The gadget provides a 8GB or 16GB of storage capacity with a 3.3 inch OLED screen (480 x 272), and Bluetooth connectivity. Cowon has decided to upgrade the D2 DAP to a D2+ version. The player measures 78mm x 55.4mm x 16.6mm and weights at only 91grams. It boasts a 2.5 inch QVGA LCD with a SDHC Cards slot and support up to 32GB SDHC Cards. The gadget is available in two different flavors with or without DMB tuner and in either 4, 8 or 16GB storage space. Cowon will launch the Cowon S9 MP3 player in Korea on December 16th. The gadget boasts a 3.3-inch AMOLED capacitive touch panel display that provides 16 million colors on 480 x 272 pixels resolution. The player is powered by a 500MHz dual-core CPU, and supports T-DMB digital television tuner, Bluetooth, FM radio, text/photo viewer, electronic dictionary function, TV-out, and G-Sensor accelerometer. The S9 also supports user interface of touchscreen, gravity sensor, zoom in/out flash menu and video clip preview function. Its battery provides up to 55 hours of music playback, 11 hours of video playback, and up to 350 hours of standby time. The Cowon S9 is available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB storage space.
