The Cowon A3 portable media player is actually a successor of the Cowon A2. The 30GB and 60GB models will retail for $349 and $399 respectively. The A3 comes with a large 4 inch TFT LCD display(800 x 480 resolution), S-Video, and composite video output. The player supports AVI, DivX, XviD, MP4, ASF, MKV, VOB, OGM, WMV 7, H.264, MPEG, DAT, and MTV formats – all at a maximum resolution of 1,280 x 720 at 30fps. Other features include a video recorder, voice recorder, an integrated FM radio and a radio recorder.

Cowon comes back with its new D2TV Portable Media Player that allows you to hook up an antenna for watching TV while on the go. This portable gadget has a 2.5-inch touch sensitive screen with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, an FM tuner, SD/MMC and SDHC expansion, and support for WMV, MPEG4, DIVX, and XVID all at 30fps. The player sports some audio formats include MP3, OGG, FLAC, WAV, WMA, APE, and images in JPG and BMP formats.

Cowon will release their Q5 media player in US stores before the end of the month. The 40GB model retails for $550 while the 60GB is priced at $600. The player offers a display screen with 800 x 480 resolution, DVR capabilities, some codec support including DivX and XviD, built-in speakers, and an FM radio, along with optional TeleAtlas-based GPS.

Cowon Japan will release its new iAUDIO 7 in the Japanese market. This 16GB MP3 player comes equipped with 1.3-inch TFT-LCD with 260,000 colors and swing touch button. The player also support EQ filter allowing users to adjust bandwidth and frequencies of each sound band in the Equalizer, FM radio, voice recording, text and image viewer. Cowon has brought to our attention, that their L2 PMP GPS system will go TPEG. Which means the Transport Protocol Expert Group. This service allows you to know when there are traffic jams, strikes, or any other nuisances that prevent you from being on time to work or any other place for that matter.The basic features include the 7-inch touchscreen, DMB, audio/video, picture in picture, 2GB of disk space.

Cowon’s Q5 PMP features a 5 inch touch screen (800×480) and runs on WinCE 5.0 with Alchemy 500Mhz CPU, and a choice of 40GB or 60GB hard dick drive. The device also comes pre-loaded with Britanica Encyclopedia and dictionaries. However, you will need to fly to Korea to get this gadget.

Cowon are prepared to release not one, but two portable multimedia devices with a full 16GB of storage capacity. The first one is the iAudio7, which comes with 16GB of internal memory. The gadget is using flash memory and not hard drive. The second gadget is the Cowon D2, which only has 8GB of flash memory, but you can add more storage capacity through the provided SDHC expansion card slot, bringing the total memory capacity to 16GB. The Cowon D2 is also available in a DMB-touting variant. The Cowon iAudio7 has been priced at $320, while the D2 receives an MSRP of $449.

A tipster pointed us out to this mysterious image of Cowon’s iAudio music and video player. It somewhat resembles the iAudio x5 except for the thumbstick that sits in the middle on this one. Either way it looks proper dope despite its obesity on the z-axis!

The Cowon X7 Media Player is rumored to debut at the IFA 2007 Electronics Expo. According to the source, it’s just one prototype of the designs submitted in March, so the final product may not be the same. From the photo, the X7 will make a change from the X5 design. Instead of vertical view with a 4:3 screen. The X7 will have a 7-inch wide screen and touch screen controls like the Q5 Media Player.
