JVC’s Alneo XA-S Digital Audio Player comes in two versions. The XA-S108 and XA-S208 offer 1GB and 2GB of memory respectively. Both players sports a four line OLED display that provides track details along with other information. The gadget plays MP3, WMA and WM-DRM file formats and has the favorite mode that creates a play list of the 30 most accessed music tracks. Measuring 77mm × 32mm × 18mm and weighing 37 grams, the JVC Alneo XA-S will be released in Japan for $125(1GB model) and $160(2GB model).

The Poketo DAP from Palama Japan looks more like a colorful USB stick. The gadget can playback MP3 / WMA files and has 512 MB of onboard memory. However, it lacks of a display and an expansion slot. Poketo will be available in Japan from September for $ 33.

The Sansa C250 digital audio player is now available in cute pink and red colors. The player offers 1GB or 2GB of storage capacity and has a 1.4-inch color display for ‘showing album art and JPEG thumbnails’, an FM tuner, radio recording function, voice recorder, USB 2.0 support, a microSD expansion slot, and a removable/rechargeable Li-ion cell. SanDisk’s Sansa C250 sells for $99.99(2GB).

Victor-JVC will release on April 25th a wallpaper service for their C51, C59, C110, C210, XA-C59, and C109 digital audio players. You are required to download an application software to allow communication of the PC and the music player.

SanDisk’s Shaker DAP features a built-in speaker system for uninterrupted listening pleasure. It also has two headphone jacks so you can share your tunes with your buddy. The player will have 512MB memory and feature an SD slot for additional storage. Available in blue and pink, the Shaker will retail for around $50 next month.

The DAP also offers up to 4GB of storage capacity. Its battery provides 30 hours of playback time. The Sony E Series measures 22.4mm x 82.9mm x 13.6mm and weights just 29grams. The new Freestyle Audio Digital Music Player can be submerged up to 10 feet. This gadget can even float in water! Weighing at just 1.3 ounces, the DAP features a built-in flash capacity of up to 1GB. Its battery provides up to 40 hours of playback time per charge. Sadly, the Freestyle Audio Digital Music Player has no LCD screen.

According to some rumors, Sony will release the flash-memory based player with a video capability. Dubbed as the NW-A800, it will come in 4 colors with a storage capacity ranging from 2GB to 8GB, and 10 hours of video playback. Other specs have not been announced yet. Stay tuned for more updates!
