Clevery Japan today introduced their new ST8 Mini, a BTO compact desktop that is priced at 34,800 Yen or less than €300. Each purchase of this mini desktop you will receive a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 330 CPU with an Intel 945GC Express chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 500GB of HDD (SATA 7200rpm). If you don’t like the Atom CPU, you can also choose a Core 2 Duo E7300 or a E8400 CPU. In addition, the ST8 Mini uses a 300W power supply. [Akihabara]

Asus has updates its two new Eee Box range with HDMI feature. The two models are the Asus Eee Box B204 and B206. Both PCs are now able to connect to your LCD or Plasma via the built in HDMI. These mini desktops also come equipped with new software called Eee Cinema, a fully featured media player that allows users to play HD video. The Asus Eee Box B204 and B206 offer an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and an ATI Radeon HD 3400 256MB graphics card. No word yet on pricing or availability. I know that Asus was unsatisfied with the current Eee Box specs, so the company has decided to produce a new Asus Eee Box with an Intel Celeron 220 processor. in addition to upping the ante by replacing the 80GB hard drive with a 120GB model. The new model will retail for a lower price point – approximately $45 less compared to the current Atom-powered model. There is no word on the release date so far. [TrustedReviews]

Dell comes back to the desktop market with a new range of OptiPlex desktop PCs. The new OptiPlex 960 model is available in the usual mini tower, slimline desktop, and small form factor versions that are priced at $902, $892, and $912, respectively. The base configurations boasts a 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM, and an 80GB hard drive. You can also choose a higher specs such as a Core 2 Quad processor or a better graphics card. Dell has also released the $399 OptiPlex FX160 thin client PC, and updated versions of its OptiPlex 760 and OptiPlex 360 desktops, which feature a 2.0GHz Celeron processor in their base configurations. HP will be launching two new business desktops called the HP Compaq dc5850 and dx2450 Business Desktop PCs. They both support “next-generation AMD Business Class processors” which is the Athlon X2, Phenom X3 and Phenom X4, slots / ports. The dc5850 comes with integrated ATI Radeon 3100 graphics, AMD’s Cool’n'Quiet 2.0 technology, 8GB of RAM, an optional dual-drive RAID setup and a dual-layer DVD writer. The dx2450 features NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE graphics, 4GB of RAM and up to 500GB of SATA HDD space. You can get the dc5850 in early May for $599 and the dx2450 now for $369. [HP]

Check out this cool curved iMac desktop concept by Nuno Teixeira. It has a giant curved screen and a second built in LCD screen on the back. More than likely, this awesome but unique iMac probably will not be made a reality. So all you Mac geeks will be living in a fantasy until then. [Yanko] More
