
The Canon PowerShot SD980 IS Digital ELPH camera features a 12.1MP sensor with a 5x optical zoom, an ultra wide 24mm lens, a 3.0-inch touchscreen PureColor System LCD screen, and an optical image stabilization. The camera also has 720p HD video shooting capabilities plus HDMI output connector for easy playback of video and photos on HDTV’s to share with friends and family. Check out the latest AVCHD powered camera from Sony, the HDR-CX12. Measuring 69mm x 67mm x 129mm and weighing 420grams (with battery), the camcorder features a new Exmor CMOS sensor with 10MP ClearVid 1/3.13-inch and the BIONZ technology. The HDR-CX12 sports Full HD recording 1920×1080i in AVCHD (Mpeg4 AVC/H.264, 16Mbps), the HDV support (1440×1080i) in 5/7/9Mbps and HDMI output. Other features include smile shutter and face detection, Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 12 optical zoon lens, a 2.7-inch LCD, 5.1 surround sound microphone, and Memory Stick PRO Duo (4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2) in the box) storage. Sony HDR-CX12 will be out in Japan in July but will hit stateside by August for around $900. It will be sold with a 8GB Memory Stick since it has no Hard Disk Drive. BenQ comes back with its brand new thin digicam. The BenQ T850 is a 8MP digital camera that measures only 15mm in thickness. Here is a video of the Casio Exilim PRO EX-F1 press conference. Casio has released the camera in Korea. The Casio Exilim PRO EX-F1 features a high speed CMOS sensor and a high speed LSI processor, an ultra-high speed 60fps burst rate for still images. The digicam is also able to capture 1,200 fps high speed movie recording and record movies at full HD quality.
