Casio today launched another member from their Z-Series digicam. Known as the Exilim EX-Z33, this 10 Megapixel entry-level digital camera features a 3x optical zoom lens with a 2.5-inch LCD display. The camera also supports a number of other functions as found on most compact digital cameras today including Face Detection and Anti Shake Mode. The Exilim Zoom EX-Z450 is the latest addition to the Casio’s point-and-shoot camera series. It is a 12.1MP shooter that adopts Exilim Engine 4.0, a 4x optical zoom, and is capable of recording video in 720/24p. In addition, the camera also has an ISO range of 64 to 3200, a 35.7 MB of internal memory, and a new Automatic Focus mode that automatically detects the photo subject even if it is not a human face. The EX-Z450 should automatically adjust exposure and focus to best capture the non-human (or human) subject. It is also capable of high-speed burst shooting at up to 10fps at a reduced resolution. Pentax has announced the availability of the Optio P80 and E80 wallet-friendly compact digital cameras. The Optio P80 features a 12.1 Megapixel sensor, a 4X PENTAX wide angle zoom lens with 27.5 wide angle, a 2.7-inch LCD display, PENTAX Shake Reduction (SR) technology, Face Detection, Smile Capture and ISO up to 6400. Available in three fashionable colors including Black, Pearl, and Mint, this camera is able to record 720p HD video at 30fps. On the other hand, the Pentax Optio E80 is an entry-level camera with 10 Megapixel CCD, a 3X optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD display, ISO up to 6400, and Face Detection. Olympus has announced the addition of Stylus Tough 6010 (µ TOUGH-6010 in Europe) to its rugged compact camera series. This compact camera is claimed to be waterproof up to 3 meters, freeze proof up to -10 degrees and shockproof up to 1.5 meters. The camera has a 12MP sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD with Tap Control, a 3.6x optical zoom lens and offers features such as Dual Image Stabilization and built-in ‘Magic’ filters. AgfaPhoto just introduced the DC-600uw underwater and outdoor camera that can withstand pressures of up to two bar and water-resistant at depths of up to 10 meters. This 6MP digicam comes with a 2.4-inch display, a digital zoom, and the face tracking function that automatically recognizes faces. The Agfa DC-600uw will be released in July for $210. Pentax will release its rugged point-and-shoot camera next month. Known as the Optio W80, the camera is waterproof up to 16 feet underwater, works in 14 degree weather, and will survive drops from 3.3 feet. Available in Cardinal Red, Azure Blue and Gunmetal Gray, the Pentax Optio W80 will be released in July for $300 each. Sony has officially announced the availability of its new Sony Cybershot digital cameras in Japan. The Cybershot DSC-T90 and DSC-T900 are two 12.1MP cameras that offer the latest Super HAD CCD, BIONZ image processor and record video in 720p30 at both 6 and 9Mbps.
