Divx has announced the newest version of their video player, which is based on the H.264 video compression standard and offers video at up to 1080p HD resolution. The new version is available in two formats including the free download Divx 7 for Windows for Divx video playback and Divx 7 Pro which allows for Divx video creation. Great news for all of you connoisseurs of Pr0n… DivX support is coming for the PS3. So now you can plug in your external HDD to the USB plug on the PS3 and get going. Not only will it support playback for files, but this also allows developers the option of using this sort of compression for games. The way they were talking, this update should be here within a couple of weeks, let’s hope.

The PMP-M28 from Longhorn Technology China comes with a good range of features, including Flash Lite 2.1 software and support for MPEG-4, DivX and Xvid videos. The gadget also sports MP3, WAV, WMA, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG and Powerpoint files. What makes the player cool is that it can even convert DVD, TV, VCR and DV input to ASF/AFI format, from CDs to MP3s, and from MIC files to WAVs. The PMP-M28 supports NTSC and PAL formats, and AV-output. Other features include FM radio capability with a maximum capacity of 20 presets, and e-book reader functionality.

LG is finally releasing its LG Viewty phone (also known as the LG-KU990) for the European market. The camera phone features a 5MP Schneider-Kreuznach digital camera with SmartLight technology, a one-touch Image Stabilizer, and ISO 800. The handset has a beautiful 3 inch touchscreen LCD with handwriting editing function. What makes the LG-KU990 super cool is its ability to play DivX videos, considering most phones only play 3GP or MP4 videos. There is no info on pricing so far, but this sure is a phone to keep an eye on.
