Onkyo Releases Windows 7 Ready Amplifiers

Onkyo Japan will release their first Windows 7 ready amplifiers on September 11, 2009 in Japan. Dubbed as the TX-NA5007 and TX-NA1007, both amplifiers are DLNA complaint and support Dolby NR Professional Logic IIz, Dolby NR TrueHD, DTS-HD Mater and playback of WAV (linear PCM)/WMA (DRM)/WMA Lossless/MP3/AAC/FLAC/Ogg Vorbis formats. The Onkyo TX-NA5007 and TX-NA1007 are priced at 367,500 Yen ($4000) and 262,500 Yen ($2850), respectively. [Onkyo]

Sony's Latest Mega Blu-ray Changer

The Sony BDP-CX7000ES Mega Disc Changer allows you to load up to 400 Blu-ray discs. The player can automatically download Gracenote MusicID and VideoID data via an Ethernet connection, saving all of the information (including cover art) that you need to easily navigate disc titles onscreen. The navigation menu is also easy, thanks to the familiar Sony “Xross” media bar interface. The Sony BDP-CX7000ES also features an advanced DVD upscaling system. Audio support includes Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 channel sound. Marantz's Entry-level AV Receiver

Marantz has entered the entry-level AV receiver market by releasing the NR1501. Priced at $600, the AV receiver comes with four HDMI inputs, onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and analog video upconversion. The NR1501 also a bit smaller than most receivers. Sadly, there is no 7.1 analog inputs, multizone functionality, and satellite radio connections. [Crave]

Panasonic DMR-BW970 Digital Video Recorder

Panasonic will release six new digital video recorders in September 2009. One of these DVRs is the high-end DMR-BW970, which is a successor of the Panasonic DMR-BW930. It is able to record up to 320-hours of video in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 @ 12.9Mbps. The DVR also supports Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD, and can record on BD-RE, BD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD R DL, and DVD-RW. Denon AVC-3310 7.1 AV Amplifier

Here is the latest 7.1-channel 180-watts amplifier from Denon that features AL24 Processing Plus and video upscaling capability for DVDs. The amp is compatible with Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and Dolby Pro Logic IIz as well as supports HD playback via HDMI port. Philips HTS8160B Bluray Soundbar

The Philips HTS8160B Bluray Soundbar is now available in Singapore. This home theater system consists of a Blu-ray disc player, a separate subwoofer, and the Ambisound HD speakers system that boasts Dolby True HD audio format and 7.1-channel surround sound. The HTS8160B is also compatible with the iPod/iPhone. If you are interested, you should have at least $1,500 in your pocket. The release date for the North American market is still unknown. Pioneer BDP-95FD Blu-ray Player

Pioneer BDP-95FD Blu-ray Player

Pioneer’s BDP-95FD Blu-ray player has just unveiled hours ago. This new high-end Blu-ray player is apparently the first player to offer bitstream output of “all advanced audio formats” including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital+, DTS-HD High Resolution, and DTS-HD Master Audio. The player also offers full 1080p24 video, along with HDMI 1.3 connectivity (including HDMI-CEC technology), and Pioneer’s Home Media Gallery, which will let you network the player with your computer or other DLNA-compliant gear. Pioneer BDP-95FD Blu-ray player retails for a $1,000 when it’s released in October.
