ASUS Xonar D2 High-fidelity 7.1 Sound Card

ASUS today has introduced the Xonar D2, which is the company’s first dedicated sound card based on the newer AV200 processor. ASUS claims that its brand new PCI-based sound card is “fully aware of Dolby Digital and DTS signals for processing movie audio, and for recording includes a special application called the Portable Media Processor.” This software uses “analog loopback transformation built into the card to create near-lossless copies from most sources.” The Xonar should be available soon as an add-on for existing PCs.
