
Philips has just released the new DCP951 DVD player. The DCP951 has support for DVD along with support for DVD +/-R and DVD +/-RW, VCD, DivX, and MPEG4 movies. The DVD player doubles as an iPod touch dock,so you can view and charge at ease. The DCP951 also has an SD/MMC memory card slot to view short movies and digital photos files and has a 9″ LCD display. Sony has announced that the DVP-FX720 DVD player will be available in Japan and will in addition, carry a “white” model. [Akihabara]

Looks like Sony will be releasing another DVD-player similar to the DVP-NS53P called the DVP-NS700H. The only difference is that this one has a few minor adjustments such as an HDMI output and an upscaling function. The DVP-NS700H is now available in Japan for about 10.000JPY or 100€. It’s not the best deal Sony has proposed, but if you’re willing to pay that much then we wont stop you. [Akihabara]

Yamaha will be launching a new all-in-one DVD and audio player called the DVX-1000. It features AIR SURROUND XTREME. The DVD player is compatible with video formats like DivX andDvix ULTRA, and MP3 and WMA audio files along with an HDMI output, USB port, and an AM/FM radio tuner. [Akihabara]

Toshiba will release three new portable DVD players. The SD-P91DT has a 9” LCD, and 1Seg Digital TV tuner. The SD-P71DT has a 7” LCD 1Seg TV tuner and the SD-P71S that doesn’t have a 1Seg Digital TV tuner. All three will drop sometime soon for around $513. [Link]

Samsung wants you to play your DVD’s in style this time with the glossy DVD player that lacks reals buttons but instead get touch sensitive glossed-on buttons. Aka the Samsung DVD-F1080, this DVD player also features 1080p upscaling ability via HDMI as well as support for DivX, MP3, WMA, JPEG and MPEG-4 clips. For $111, I’d have to say this looks like a promising DVD player that’s very well portable and not too pricey.
