
Memorex of all brands has come out with a portable dvd player, the MVDP1085-FLRB portable DVD player, is $149 and has a crappy two hours of internal battery among other features. The MVDP1085-FLRB DVD player features an 8.4-inch swiveling widescreen LCD display and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. It plays all writable and re-writable DVD and CD formats, and includes built-in stereo speakers.

Plezo has just released their DVD/DIVX player called the PPD-1920S in Korea. It comes with 9.2-inch wide LCD that can rotate up to 270-degrees and can be connected to external devices like your TV, DMB, and navigation that also supports output with a MMC/SD card slot along with a cigar jack, earphone and a remote control. Both Korea and Japan have this baby right now for a retail price of $359.

Here is a new HD DVD player from Venturer. The SHD7000 claims to be one of the cheapest HD DVD players. Priced at around $200, the player has a maximum output of 1080i, support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD in 5.1-channel surround, outputs through HDMI, and uses Ethernet connections for updates or Internet-based special movie features.

iLuv has released a new Portable Video MP3 and DVD Player. This 8.4 inch portable media player also acts as a a turntable with an integrated iPod dock an that can play videos and music. The gadget also offers a video out to connect it to a TV. iLuv’s new Portable Video MP3 and DVD Player retails for around $250.

Sony Japan has rolled out the DVP-FX860DT portable DVD player, which packs in a 8 inch LCD display (800 x 480) fixed by two hinges allowing it to rotate 180 degrees. The player sports DVD, VCD, Audio CD and MP3 disc playback and features a USB terminal to load up USB drives for MP3 and JPEG playback. Its onboard battery provides up to 6 hours of continuous playback. Measuring 228.6mm × 165.3mm × 32.3mm and weighing 1.02Kg, the Sony DVP-FX860DT will be released in Japan for $500.
