Transcend has rolled out its latest slim portable DVD writer called the TS8XDVDRW. Targeted towards netbook users who are always on the move, the drive features a USB 2.0 connection interface and provides maximum write speeds of up to 8x for DVD-R/+R and 24x for CD-R/-RW. Targeted towards netbook users who are always on the move, the drive provides maximum write speeds of 22x for DVD+R/-R, 8x for DVD+R DL and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-R DL and DVD-RW, 52x for CD-R and 32x for CD-RW. Most of us still rely on the DVD technology. Pioneer knows that and has decided to release two new DVD burners in the form of the DVR-2920Q internal DVD writer and DVR-X162Q external DVD writer. Both DVD burners adopt Qflix technology that allows users to download their favorite Hollywood productions and record them onto a DVD discs. No word on pricing so far. [Press Release]
