
Cable provider Canal+ has collaborated with Yves Behar to create Le Cube, which is their new ultra-stylish HD cable box with DVR and video on demand functions. The gadget also comes equipped with a remote control that matches the black and white design. Le Cube will be released for Canal+ subscribers on November 4th, 2008. [Design Boom]

Here is the latest DVR Expander from Iomega that comes with a 500GB of storage capacity to record all your favorite TV shows. The 500GB of hard drive space is large enough to store up to 300 hours of standard definition TV. Priced at around $200, the device comes with an eSATA cable. The Iomega DVR Expander is compatible with the 8300 DVR and the 8300HD DVR. [Engadget]

Sony has announced the release of the new BDZ series Blu-ray recorders called the A70 and high-end T90. Both depend on AVC (H.264) encoding coming with either the 320GB or 500GB hard drives. You convert videos into portable formats. Other features include both analog and digital TV tuners, Sony’s Room Link, HDMI output, S-Video, and RCA. You can find both of these in Japan April 30th starting from $1,664 upwards. No word on if either of these will hit the States unfortunately. [Electronista]

Sony has released a new DVR called the T90. It has better video quality recordings, true cinema 24p support, a 500GB HDD, a blu-ray player and recorder, 2 analog, digital TV tuners, Sony Room Link support, and enhanced programming features. The Archos TV & Wireless DVR is a 250GB digital video recorder (DVR) that is a WiFi receiver that can download, streaming media (music/photos) to the tv and browses the web via the integrated Opera browser as well as a USB 2.0, and 640×480 recording resolution. The price range for this DVR wonder is between $250 and $350.

The Black Box DVR features a camera, a miniSD card up to 4GB and measures at 2.28 square inches. It can record 640×480 video at 30fps and includes a “long lasting” Li-Ion battery. But what it really is, is the smallest personal video recorder to date. Unfortunately, unlike other “Black Boxes” of old, this little gadget won’t pick up your “favorite” channels illegally.
