
iRiver Japan enters e-book reader market by releasing their own e-book reader. The device will be able to handle PDF documents and features a simple joystick control scheme, an SD memory card slot, and audio file playback. The Onyx Boox is a new Kindle 2 competitor that boasts a 6 inch 16 shades of gray display with touchscreen capability. Other features include Wi-Fi connectivity, a 512MB of internal memory, text-to-speech functionality and support for PDF, HTML, TXT, MOBI, JPG, BMP and MP3 formats.
