
Designed by Britt Ashcraft for Ashcraft Design, the Ashcraft Aria headphones are a combination of recycled materials and an advanced audio technology. The headband is wrapped in wood recycled from acoustic guitars, while the satin spun finished ear cups are made from reclaimed aluminum. The quilted leather surrounding the ear cups and lining come from reclaimed from bags, jackets and other articles of clothing. Green-House Japan is back with an eco-friendly product namely the Hikario LED light bulb. Rated to last 40,000 hours, this light bulb only pulls 7.7 Watts of power and fits in any old E26 bulb socket. Green-House calculates that this light bulb will only cost 2 Yen of electricity for twelve hours of continuous operation. The Hikario LED light bulb is currently available in two versions such as a sunlight-colored model (GH-LB603N) and a traditional-lightbulb-colored variant (GH-LB603L). [Akihabara]

Designed by [A]rmada, the Hangueando Solar-powered lamps consist of a couple of wooden light-boxes tied together by a cord, allowing them to adapt to any given environment or use. These lamps are built from local wood, put together with water-based adhesives and finished with water-based finishes, and lit through low energy consumption LEDs. Each box contains a battery energized by a photovoltaic panel that when combined and having collected an enough amount of energy, is capable of emitting up to 8.5-hour of continuous light. [Yanko]

This new projector provides an intelligent light dimming system and a 4,000 Lumen brightness with 69% reduced power consumption. Philips has introduced the Econova LED TV, which has been awarded the European Green TV 2010-2011 award by the European Imaging & Sound Association. The 42-inch LED TV uses the latest LED technology that reduces energy consumption by up to 60 percent, while delivering the best-in-class picture quality. The LED TV also consumes just 40W of power in eco-mode. What’s more, the Econova LED TV also features a Zero Power Switch, which reduces power consumption to 0W when the TV is turned off. This new 19-inch widescreen monitor is compliant with TCO 5.0 standard, and consumes just 18W during normal operation or less than 1W in standby mode. In terms of performance, it provides 1280 x 1024 native resolution, 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness and 5ms response time.
