While owning an electric car can be great for the environment and save you tons on gas, what about those times that you forget to charge it at night? Evatran has just released a really cool new proximity charger that will take all of the thoughts of having to remember to charge off of your mind. The system includes a charge plate that installs on your car and a charger that sits in the garage. When you pull up to the charger it automatically starts charging up your vehicle. Lightning GT is another electric car at London 2008 auto festival besides Tesla roadster. Lightning GT uses NanoSafe battery that can last for 12 years versus 3.5 years that of conventional. It’s also offering few other standard features such home based charging system (EVCS), alloy wheels, part leather / alcantara sports seat, and acoustic information and entertainment system. Its unique regenerative braking converts energy from friction to electrical. This electric car can go as fast as 130 Mph. Norwegian auto designer and manufacturer, TH!NK, used the occasion of the Geneva Motor Show 2008 to show off their new vehicle platform concept, the TH!NK Ox, a plug-in electric urban commuter that boasts advanced telematics, a range of over 100 miles and is 95% recyclable. The TH!NK Ox is a modular platform concept approaching the size of an SUV that’s been designed for the European, North American and Asian markets. The Ox is a five-seat mono cab design that has a space frame structure that can be used for a variety of different body styles.
