Buffalo has unveiled another one of its upcoming external hard drive called the MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2-BWJ. Available in 1TB capacity, this new 2.5-inch hard drive features a glossy white enclosure, a USB 2.0 connection interface and a power saving mode that can cut consumption by up to 20%. Toshiba Europe today introduced the STOR.E ALU 2S and STOR.E STEEL S external hard disk drives, featuring USB 3.0 connectivity for fast data transfers of up to 5 Gigabits per second. Both STOR.E ALU 2S and STOR.E STEEL S are available in a 2.5-inch hard disk drive model, offering a capacity of up to 1TB. The STOR.E ALU 2S is also available in a 3.5-inch hard disk drive variant with a storage capacity of up to 2TB. Thanks to their metallic casings, these new external hard disk drives are very robust and reliable. The Toshiba STOR.E ALU 2S comes in black and silver-colored brushed aluminum, while the Toshiba STOR.E STEEL S comes in three color variations such as silver, black and titanium. Buffalo is preparing to unleash their newest TV-friendly external hard drive ‘HD-LBU2/V’ for the Japanese market. Acting as both a video recorder and a media library, this new storage unit sports a USB 2.0 connection interface and is compatible with various kinds of USB-ready HDTVs such as Regza from Toshiba, Viera from Panasonic, Sony’s Bravia, Sharp’s Aquos as well as LG’s Infinia. Measuring 39mm x 123mm x 189mm and weighing 1kg, the HD-LBU2 is the latest addition to Buffalo’s external hard drive line-up. This new 3.5-inch drive has a USB 2.0 /1.1 interface and can be installed horizontally or vertically. Not to mention, the drive also comes bundled with the Eco Manager software for reducing power consumption by lowering the rotary speed of the platters when idle. The HD-LBU2 will go on sale in mid-August in four different storage capacities including 500GB ($133), 1TB ($169), 1.5TB ($219) and 2TB ($269). [Softpedia]
