Buffalo will launch the world’s first USB 3.0 external hard drive later this month. The Buffalo HD-HU3 USB 3.0 hard drive is currently available in 1TB, 1.5 TB and 2TB storage capacities. Western Digital today introduced its new My Passport Essential SE portable USB drives that come in 750GB and 1TB capacities. These USB-powered drives are perfect for saving, storing and backing up all of the digital memories captured this summer. The inclusion of WD Sync software enables users to easily take their desktop content wherever their destination is, where the synchronization of essential personal files and Microsoft Outlook data on a PC is simplified. Buffalo will be dropping a new external HDD called the MiniStation. It is said to offer a “30-percent faster transfer rate than most USB hard drives.” Additional features include Shock Resistant technology and SecureLockWare preventing unauthorized access if the drive is lost or stolen along with Memeo’s AutoBackup built right in.
