I-O Data has decided to launch a couple of new USB 3.0 external HDDs and one USB 3.0 thumb drive in the Japanese market. The I-O Data HDCA-UT external HDD series is available in 1TB and 2TB of storage spaces, while the I-O Data HDPC-AU external HDD series is available in up to 750GB of storage capacity. Iomega and Skin Industries have joined to release the Iomega Skin external hard drive series that comes with unique designs and colors. The USB 2.0-powered Iomega Skin provides a 500GB of storage capacity and Iomega’s Drop Guard technology that can protect the drive and its data from drops of up to 51-inch onto a relatively hard surface. The range is made up of the Radical with a retro Skin-branded printed logo design on a black top with a vibrant yellow base, the Red Hot with a Skin Swipe logo printing on a red top with a black base, and the Gothic-themed Knock Out with a silver top with a black base. Toshiba UK has recently unveiled the new StorE Art 3 external hard drive that comes in a 2.5-inch form factor. Western Digital (WD) has introduced their latest SuperSpeed USB 3.0 external HDD namely the My Book 3.0.
