
Iomega will be releasing a new 1TB Super eGo external hard drive. It is basically a single one-terabyte HDD featuring a USB 2.0 port and a one-year warranty. The hard drive also comes in a 2TB edition in ruby red, midnight blue or jet black for $269.95.

My DVR Expander USB Edition external hard drives from Western Digital is a 500GB external drive that sports DISH Network’s ViP Series HD DVRs. The drive allows you to store for approx. 300 hours of digital standard-definition (SD) or up to 60 hours of high-definition television programming. Korean company Savit Micro today released the Datamore Twin. It is actually an USB and eSATA HDD enclosure that support 2 3.3 inch SATA HDD. The device is powered by a Silicon Image Sil5744 SteelVine RAID processor. FYI, this processor is usually embedded in High-end motherboards. No info on pricing so far. [Savit Micro]

Measuring at 138mm x 143mm x 21mm and weighing 380grams, the I-O DATA DVRP-U8XLE portable DVD dual-layer burner comes with 4x burning speed for DL discs while standard DVD-R media can be burned at 8x speed. No word on pricing at this time. [Akihabara]

The LaCie Neil Poulton HDD has been upgraded with two new ports, a USB 2.0 socket: FireWire 400 and eSATA. Other than that it looks the same and is now available for $139.99 (500GB), $187.99 (750GB) , and $276.99 (1TB). [CNET]

Western Digital has decided to add the new My Book Studio Edition II. It features two RAID 0 drives with an updated My Book Studio design. It comes with GreenPower units, which run cooler and use less power and is HFS+ formatted. You can expect to pay $349 for 1TB and $599 for 2TB. [Prnewswire]

Dubbing and duplicating has just gotten extremely easy with the new DX-20A4PU that comes with dub and files buttons. Opening the drive automatically starts the burning software. All you have to do is press the dub button, insert a blank CD/DVD and you’re all set. The burner does DVD±R in 20x, DVD-RAM in 12x, and DVD±DL in 8x. No idea on pricing, all I can say is this is a DVD burner that can make anyone look smart. [Akihabara]

Buffalo is dropping a series of external optical devices in Europe. This model features a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray combo drive. The drive can write Blu-Ray discs and reads HD-DVD. Expect Buffalo to launch this drive in March in Europe, price is still unknown.

Iotek has unveiled a new product called the Data Locker portable external hard drive. One unique feature is its touchpad. The touchpad is used to enter the password and also features USB connectivity without using external power. No word on release date or prices right now.
