The Eye-Fi Mobile X2 is an 8GB SDHC memory card that provides instant uploads anywhere by wirelessly connecting the camera to a mobile device, such as iPhone, iPad or Android. Owners of other Eye-Fi X2 cards will benefit from Eye-Fi’s Direct Mode, scheduled for release later this week, which empowers the cards to establish a direct connection to a mobile device by creating their own Wi-Fi network anywhere. Eye-Fi’s latest WiFi memory card, the Eye-Fi Pro X2, comes with an 8GB of storage and supports Class 6 memory card performance for faster read and write speeds. The Eye-Fi Pro X2 8GB Memory Card can wirelessly upload JPEG and RAW images an videos from your camera direct to your computer and also up to 25 online photo and video sharing websites. The storage device comes with an Endless Memory feature that will automatically delete the oldest saved images on the card and replace it with a new one. Eye-Fi, a maker of the world’s first wireless memory card for digital cameras, has recently announced that they will release WiFi-enabled SD cards in the UK market on October 19th, 2009. There are three Eye-Fi cards that will be available in the UK including the Eye-Fi Home Video, the Eye-Fi Share Video and the Eye-Fi Pro. These SD cards are available in 4GB storage space that is enough to stores up to 2,000 photos or 90 minutes of video and provides automatic backup to the computer thanks to its wireless capabilities. The Eye-Fi Card will soon support uploading photos to your iPhoto library on the Mac. The 2GB SD memory card is capable of plugging into a WiFi network. Not much more to say about this one or when this feature will be available.
