If you’re tired of the drudgery of dealing with normal flash drives on a daily basis, you might want to look into a cute creature [tag]flash drive[/tag] to keep you company. Mimico made these Pokemon-like Mimobot Series 2 Flash Drives with a variety of intricate back-stories for each character. You would think only the Japanese would go through the trouble, but Mimoco is a toy company based out of Boston. Either way, the drives come in 512MB, 1GB, 2GB or 4GB capacity, and range in price from $39.95 to $109.95.

Priced at $149, the JetFlash 220 provides fingerprint scanner, 256-bit AES encryption, and a max capacity of 8GB. Otherwise, there is the JetFlash V35 offering the same max capacity in Grimace-grape only without all the security features for around $141. Both flash drives are available in Japan on August and the rest of world shortly thereafter.

Sony Japan has announced the USM-HX Pocket Bit Mini USB drives which will be available in black and premium white. The USB drive sports Windows Vista’s Ready boost feature and comes with encryption and compression software. It also comes with a clip and rotary cap and is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating system. Measuring 14.5mm × 32mm × 2.7mm and weighing 1.5grams, the Sony USM-HX will be available in 1GB and 2GB version for $34 and $53 respectively.

SanDisk teamed up with high-end Ducati motorcycles to release the SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition that comes with the shape of a gas tank that is usually seen on Ducati motorycles. It is actually the official memory products for Ducati Corse. Available in 4GB of storage capacity, the flash drive comes bundled with a recovery software CD provided by RescuePro Deluve. Unfortunately, most chicks won’t think you’re cool because you flash this in front of them, but at least it’s safer than a bike. The SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition flash drive is now on sale for $124.99.

Kingston rolled out two 8GB USB flash drives that are designed for business professionals who needs to transport large amount of data. The DataTraveler II Plus Migo Edition drive comes bundled with Migo software that allows users store their data and tools, while the Universal Mail Format allows you to access Windows based email programs. The DataTraveler 100 comes with a capless design. The DataTraveler II Plus Migo Edition and DataTraveler 100 retail for $154 and $116 respectively.

Firstor Korea released a solid state disk with up to 128GB capacity. The 2.5-inch disk is designed for laptops and comes in 32/64GB capacities. The PaxDisk will be available from September in the Korean market.

PNY introduced its new version of the Attaché drives with 8GB capacity. This refurbished drive offers a unique capless design, that swivels out when needed. The 8GB capacity should hold around 4320 photos, 132 hours of music or 48 hours of video content. The gadget is also available in sizes of 1GB, 2GB and 4GB, with a starting price of $24.

A-Data has unveiled a USB flash drives up to 8GB in capacity that come with images from Pirates of the Caribbean plastered all over outside. The device also comes with pre-loaded movie-themed wallpapers. Pricing and availability details are still in a mystery, but we are sure it should be available soon.
