Pure has announced the Sensia, which is touted as the world’s first high resolution DAB digital and Internet-connected radio with a large 5.7 inch 640 x 480 high resolution colour touchscreen, giving you a unique way to enjoy internet radio content and podcasts, DAB and FM radio stations, your own music collection via Wi-Fi, online apps and unique broadcast material. The Sensia is also a media streamer enabling users to listen to music stored on a home computer or network storage device via Wi-Fi. Media streaming requires UPnP server or Mac or PC running UPnP server software, which Pure says is supplied upon registration to www.thelounge.com, Pure’s own radio and media portal. Other specs include two 3-inch full-range drivers, an RF remote, an optional rechargeable battery, and 802.11b and 802.11g WiFi with WEP and WPA/WPA2 encryption. Hammacher and Schlemmer comes back with a table radio that is able to eliminate commercials and disc jockey banter to provide uninterrupted music playback at home or using the detachable MP3 player. You just need to select your favorite FM station and the radio will learn the commercial patterns over two to three days. When the learning period is complete, it automatically record songs and uploads them to the included portable MP3 player. The MP3 player allows you to play, pause, skip, fast forward, and rewind songs and comes with a AUX cable that permits connection to a car or home stereo. The table radio uses digital signal processing and a couple of 3-inch speakers to deliver crisp and clear sound.
