
Plustek is ready to release a new film scanner namely the OpticFilm 120. The desktop film scanner features an automatic film advance mechanism, high-quality scanner optics and newly designed film holders. It can handle both 35mm and medium-format negatives and transparencies up to a frame size of 6cm x 12cm. The Plustek OpticFilm 120 is equipped with the latest software from LaserSoft Imaging: SilverFast Ai Studio 8 with a built-in IT8 calibration and a matching IT8 target. Docomo has recently released the MEDIAS TAB N-06D 7-inch waterproof tablet. Powered by the Google Android OS, the gadget supports NOTTV. It is a new terrestrial broadcasting service for smartphones and tablets that will begin transmission on April 1, 2012. The Medias Tab N-06D features a 7-inch WXGA display, a dual-core processor, a mobile wallet service, a One-Seg mobile TV tuner and an infra-red data transmission. [Akihabara]

Tokyoflash has released a new uneasy-to-read watch, which is based on a fan designed concept. The Tokyoflash LCD Stencil watch features a stainless steel face with a leather strap and several buttons on the side. It has an always on LCD display that shows the current time using big graffiti style numbers in a four square arrangement. Min-Kyu Choi has designed a smaller version of the standard British plug namely the “Mu” plug. It is actually the first major update to the regular British power plug since 1947. The Mu comes in smaller and slim design with only 1cm of thickness, while the old model is 4.5cm thick. The Mu power plug is currently available for £25 or around $39.42. [The Telegraph]

Belkin’s new WeMo system enables household electronics to be controlled from anywhere using a mobile app on a smartphone or a tablet. The WeMo comprises of two units such as the WeMo Home Control Switch and the WeMo Motion Sensor. It works with a home’s existing electrical system and requires only a Wi-Fi network and a free smartphone app to set up and control. Arnova has rolled out a new 8-inch Android tablet namely the Arnova 8b G2. The gadget is powered by a 1GHz AMR Cortex A8 processor with an 8GB of internal storage, an 8-inch (800×600) multitouch display, a microSD card slot for storage expansion and a front-facing camera for Skype video calls. Other specs include a built-in microphone, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a G-sensor and a built-in speaker. The Arnova 8b G2 runs on the Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Designed by Daniel Abendroth and Andreas Meinhardt, the Hagent robotic heat redistributor uses a heat sensor to find a warm cozy place such as next to the fireplace. The device will absorb all of that heat, storing it as energy. Once the temperature drops, the Hagent robotic heat redistributor will move around to where it is cold and release the stored heat.
