Google has just released an updated version of its Google Earth desktop software that claims to offer a higher quality, more immersive experience. In addition to a new navigation system, users will also benefit from more realistic, real-world data as well as incorporate a first-person, ground-level perspective which is normally found in FPS games. Street View in Google Maps is also included, while a Sunlight feature allows users to set the sun’s location relative to the earth. [Pocket-Lint]

Here’s a proposed cell phone that’s centered around Dell’s Alienware brand. This Alienware concept phone would feature Google’s Android platform, some sick gaming features from Alienware, and some other goodies. It’s only a concept though, but it’s cool because it’s Alienware as opposed to Dull Dell Computers.

Looks like Google is working with Taiwan’s High Tech Computer (HTC) Corp to steal iPhone’s crown from Apple. Google is choosing HTC because its track record with a large number of Microsoft Windows powered devices over the years, and their great speced hardware. The Wall Street Journals reported that Google has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in this project and has courted US and European mobile operators to launch in Q1 2008. It’s really about time for open-source technology to own the market, talking about end-user freedom from a company that “does no evil”.
