
Navigon has added a couple of new GPS navigation systems to their 70-series devices, the Navigon 70 Easy and 70 Plus Live. Both gadgets feature a 5-inch display screen, an active lane assistant, a reality view Pro, a text-to-speech function, etc. The Navigon 70 Plus Live has a lot more features such as Google Local Search, Traffic Live, Mobile Safety Camera Live and Weather Live. What’s more, this gadget also provides Clever Parking Live, which is only available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg. Sony Japan has announced more details about the Nav-u NV-U37 waterproof GPS navigator. For your info, the gadget features a 3.5-inch (320 x 240) display screen, an 8GB of onboard memory which is expandable via a memory card slot. The battery provides enough juice for up to 9-hour of navigation. Available in White, Black or Yellow, the Sony Nav-u NV-U37 will be available in Japan next month for 38,780 Yen (around $500). TomTom will release the Go Live 800 GPS navigator series in Europe. The series consists of the Go Live 820 and Go Live 825. The former comes equipped with a 4.3-inch display screen, while the latter has a bigger 5-inch display screen. Both models feature Bluetooth connectivity and a voice command recognition. The TomTom Go Live 825 is priced at £230 ($374). The price for the TomTom Go Live 820 hasn’t been announced yet. These GPS navigation gadgets will be launched in September 2011. [Navigadget]

Pioneer today introduced the world’s first augmented reality navigation system. The Pioneer AVIC-VH09CS comes jam packed with a 7-inch LCD display, a DVD/ CD player, a USB 2.0 port, an SD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity. What makes this navigation gadget interesting is that it has the Augmented Reality (AR) Scouter Mode. Using a windshield-mounted camera, the AVIC-VH09CS streams live footage to a 7-inch in-dash display, adding layers of pertinent information to real-time video.
