
You can now pre-order the Garmin 295W GPS navigator for $279.99 at Amazon. The gadget comes pre-loaded with North American maps and features a 3-megapixel camera that allows you to take geotagged photos. The Garmin 295W has a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that can auto-rotate between portrait or landscape mode. Other features include a picture viewer, a currency converter, weather forecasts, and e-mail attachments. Users can download pictures from Garmin Connect, while the company’s Locate feature automatically saves the location of a vehicle when the device is removed from a dock. Garmin International today introduced the nüvi 3700 series of GPS device, which consists of the 3790T, 3760T and 3750. All models feature a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that lets you to see preloaded maps and intuitive menus in landscape or portrait modes – ideal for use in the car or on foot. The capacitive multi-touch display allows you to pinch the screen to zoom in. Double tapping on the screen can also be done to choose where you want to zoom in to. TomTom today unveiled the TomTom Start2, which is actually the first entry-level GPS navigation system that supports Lane Assist and text-to-speech for spoken street names. The Lane Assist shows several graphical indicators on the display to show you which lane to take. The Start2 will be available in April 2010.
