
SimpleTech launches first eco-friendly external storage ever. The drive only comes in a package of just the necessities; the USB & power cables, and the drive itself. The top and the bottom of the drive are two pieces of unpainted bamboo strips. SimpleTech will offer 500 GB of space. Unfortunately it does not support Firewire or eSATA, just USB 2.0 connection with software that will allow transfer in turbo mode. Estimated to cost about $150. [MaximumPC]

According to the Samsung Press Release, the company will launch the world first 500GB 2.5HDD (5400Rpm) in the world with the MSRP of $299. The Spinpoint M6 features a 5400rpm spindle speed, a 8MB cache, and 3.0Gbps SATA interface with a Free-Fall-Sensor available as an optional feature. It is specially made for Notebook PCs. [Samsung]

Fujitsu comes is back with another high capacity hard disk drive. The company introduced its new 2.5-inch 320GB hard disk drive. Dubbed as the MHZ2 BH, it supports Serial ATA3.0Gb/s interface, and provides 5400rpm speed, transfer speeds of up to 300MB per second, and 8MB buffer. The device will be released in February 2008.
